That's new
There was a bird in the office this morning. Not the first thing I wanted to see. Pigeons are so stupid. It was feet away from the door, and what does it do? Instead of flying outside, it flies in circles inside the office.
You're gonna hafta get a job
Man, emptying a container is not as satisfying as it used to be. The big rush is getting everything on the shelves efficiently and easily. This container is the tiny bit of excitement I've seen in almost a week at work. Business has been sloooow. Christmas better pick up.
My mind is a little scattered lately. A lot of staring off into space and wondering if I can survive a zombie attack.
The lunch budget is working so far, and it doesn't hurt that the company paid for today's lunch.
I wonder if June liked her play date.
A Scottish folk song
What a busy weekend. I don't remember what happened on Friday, so lets just skip that day for now. On Saturday I finally saw "Zombieland" with some old buddies. It was way better than I anticipated, and I already anticipated that it'd be awesome. Afterwards, I ran some errands and picked up some odds and ends in Silverlake. It's like my annual pilgrimage there where I'll just walk around and do stuff around the neighborhood. Everyone was bummed about the Dodger loss.
I woke up early Sunday to make it to AIDS Walk LA. I finished it in two hours. I would've been done sooner if I had ran some of the way, but I didn't want to run nor did I want to look like the weird chumps that were running. I went the whole way through with no stops or breaks and it was super easy. It was getting boring near the end because everything was monotonous; no anti-gay protesters, no music booths, and every volunteer kept saying, "you're almost there" when we weren't. Starving after the walk (because I really didn't eat any of the free food they were passing out except for some fruit) I headed to Father's Office and ate their signature burger, sweet potato fries, and had a few pints of beer. I went back home to maybe nap a little before going to little Akira's birthday party, but I feel asleep longer than I thought and missed it but made it in enough time to go to the Laker game (Thanks Brian!). Everyone was bummed about the other Dodger loss.
Here's a picture of a real happy meal...

Throw away the broken one
Another good weekend came and gone and is replaced with another week of work. I think I want another vacation.
It all started with a best dinner in Little Tokyo. It was too tempting to order two of everything in the menu. The fun part was asking, "what's that?" and then ordering it. I could swear that I didn't get a buzz. Did they spike the booze with water?
Saturday was super chill. I don't think I remember anything besides getting boba and watching the Dodgers whoop the red birds. Good game, still. Uni was on my mind that whole day.
There's a lot of food talk lately.
I hung out with my brother on Sunday. We had lunch and we played a short game of Go. I barely showed him how to play and he did indeed make all the rookie mistakes I made when I first started to play. Afterwards we played with the Wii because I was jonesing on video games since Friday. It was the first time since college since I actually played an arcade game. Neat.
So, what's the plan?
Class was totally fun. My defense was totally on the rise and that's a good improvement. After class we had a nice tea party with real tea and moon cake. I didn't get any of the special egg, but I'd rather have others have it that want it than me getting the delicious yolk. Afterwards I got some canned rice punch. Can you believe that exists??? They say that if you can drive stick, you can truly multi-task. Try working the gas, break, clutch, steering wheel, iPod, and sipping sik hye at the once. It's magical.
I didn't get to talk about TUF with tracksuit. I know he had a opinion about it.
At this moment, I'm drinking a 090909 Vertical Epic and eating seasoned seaweed and watching season 1 of Supernatural. How fun!
Based on empire
What's up with this exhaustion going on? I skipped class on Tuesday to rest and maybe catch up on some cleaning. I made a sizable dent, but nothing groundbreaking. The last two days I don't even think I could've lifted my arms. Not because they are sore, but just because they felt really heavy.
I'm getting stopped a lot at the park while walking June. For some reason, people just want to talk about dogs. That's dog people for you. Since June hit 5 years old (we are no longer 28 people years anymore), I decided to get June preventative arthritis care by getting her some MSM powder from NuPro. You sprinkle it on food and it does its magic, I guess. People recommended it to me, so why not? If you do decide to get it, get the one with "joint support." Why get the one with no "js" support? Beats me. It smells like powdered fish jerky.
Man, I want soup. Soup rocks.
Talking to the crowd
What a fun weekend. Joe had a rare night to himself and I took it upon myself to get him drinking outside the house. By the time he got off work it was late, so I took him to the local spots and I like to think he had a good time. We hopped over across the street and I was hoping to see the usual bartenders, but instead got goth Christina Aguilera. Near the end of the night, Joe was smiles and laughs. We're oddly alike, it's scary, even down to our monotone voice.
Mike hit me up the next day about going to the music festival in Eagle Rock to check out Ryan's younger brother's band, The Winter Semester. He beat me to the punch because I was going to call him up. Great minds think alike. It was a huge turnout. A great turnout, even. It was such a big turnout, I wasn't able to casually bump into people I know and The Mormons. Mike brought over "refreshments," and we partook on the shuttle, on the street, and on the street again. "Chug another one so the bag won't be so heavy." Good advice.
Sunday appeared out of no where. The next thing I know, class was over and I was getting ready to transport June to the grassy dog park to meet up RJK and Charlotte. There wasn't any doubt that June would get along with Charlotte, but I was worried if Charlotte would hate her. They got along well enough where no fights broke out, and I think they liked playing it "cool" at the park. June walked by herself a lot. Damn. We are alike.
Today didn't feel bad. I like this cold weather, but all the wind has to go.
Optic Throbbing
So, I signed up for AIDS Walk LA the other day. Click the link to donate if you want, it's completely up to you. It's not a walk-a-thon, but it's for a cause. I kinda feel like I don't give back to anything. Baby steps.
Kimbo put up a decent fight. He needs ground defense. Oh, yeah... thanks Yahoo! News for spoilers on their front page before the episode even showed on this side of the country.
This day felt odd to me. I want to say more stuff but I dunno.
Let's break the tension by showing a picture of my cockpit...

Hey, pull over, man. Pull over.
I can't believe it's Monday already. Friday ended quick, and that was too bad.
Saturday was a fun day in Hollywood where Mike and I took the trains to the San Gennaro Italian festival and ate a bunch of food with cheese in and on it and many Peroni beer. At the cheese booth, I spun the cheese wheel and won their little grand prize of a little bag, a reflector, a light, and string cheese. I was the most excited about the cheese. Since we didn't want to waste the Metro Day Pass, we also hit up Lucky Baldwins for a few pints and watch the Dodgers win. 250 from the tap is tasty. Dodgers, why can't you just clinch the damn thing already?
Only a block away from the San Gennaro festival, there was an event celebrating this movie that just came out documenting Lebron James early basketball life before the NBA (I think). It had free food and (non alcoholic) drinks, and free swag. King James was being interviewed and I saw him from afar. He's big.
I got lunch with my brother after class on Sunday. I wanted to order egg rolls but it would've been too much food. The dumpling place was still open and that looked good, too. After lunch I decided that the car finally needed a wash so we went to see Shawn. His hands do not look good. I haven't talked to him for a while and I thought it'd be nice to drum up some business for his car wash. The car is shiny now.
Soup weather is coming. Awesome.
They sell jeans
Class was fun. I didn't get hit in the eye like last week, but that can't happen all the time, can it? You're fast, seriously. My skin must be too thick or dead to even feel your hands. It's like rolling with a ghost. Remember in the movie Ghost where Vincent Schiavelli's character on the Subway was teaching Patrick Swayze's character how to move physical objects and breaks the cigarette machine. Vincent Schiavelli looks at all the fallen cigarettes and says, "I'd do anything for a drag." Haha. I love that scene.
It's the calm before the storm at work. I think I've been having it too easy at work lately and that might soon change.
Who wants to watch Zombieland? It looks so damn fun.
Oh my, there's a two hour Hell's Kitchen?
Is working to meet that need
This weekend couldn't get here fast enough. At least the wind-up to the weekend got good. I had another best lunch in Pasadena with food floating on boats. I'm glad I didn't drop anything and disrupt the flow of boats. You know it's a good lunch when a drink is already waiting for you before you sit down.
That same day I hung out and got dinner with my brother. We both said that we didn't want to go somewhere heavy but we did anyways. Who would've thought that Korean tofu soup would be so filling?
I just ate a banana, a spoonful of peanut butter, and now drinking coffee. Cap'n Crunch was calling my name but I didn't want to eat something out of a bowl?
Dumplings sound good right now.
You have to be here
Class was fun today, but no goofing off. For a moment, I thought the most random people were going to show up but they didn't. Instead, it was the most awesome people that showed up. The young doctor finally loosened up and cracked some jokes. I knew he had it in him.
Work has been super slow. The warehouse is practically empty.
With less work, I'm feeling more and more like a pig because with less work and more eating that's what comes naturally. My bike is looking lonely, but maybe not for long.
Nice hardware
Wow. A shower never felt so good. It was an icky feeling day.
The weekend was nothing but food and drink and a boring Angel game. Short of the inside the park homerun, the game was boring, I'm sorry. I was never an Angel fan, but I'll root for them over the Yankees. I guess I have more love for the Doyers Dodgers.
At the game, I ate a regular hot dog, and another one the size of my forearm. "I can't believe I ate the whole thing." A bag of peanuts and two moderately priced beers rounded out the game. I missed the chocolate malts and Cool-a-Cool ice cream cookie sandwiches that you get at Chavez Ravine.
After the game we all went to the Boiling Crab to eat bags of seafood and various potato fries. I think my hands still smell like garlic. What better way to cap off a day at the park than to have two giant bags of seasoned shrimp, clams, crawfish, corn, and sausage dumped on to the table?
The food did not stop there. Korean BBQ stepped up to the plate. Fresh rice and spicy cucumbers and radishes with shredded green onion really make that nicely marinated beef "pop!" If they set bibimbop in front of me, I would've ate all of that. Brian and I almost polished off a 24 pack of Heineken and we were still walking! I know of a carbon fiber stomach that could do it too.
Hmmm...

This challenge is my favorite
I'm glued to Engadget's coverage of Apple's Live Event.
I didn't feel hungry after class, but I did feel like having a beer and an ice cream bar. That really hit the spot.
It's totally Wednesday but it doesn't feel like it.
The nephew and Akira both started school, and June was trying to eat a pine cone. What a fun and weird day.
Hugs all around.
